The EEO-1 Survey is now open, and companies may file their 2016 reports. The EEO-1 Survey generally opens on July 1 each year, but this year, the portal was not open until August 1. The VETS-4212 also opened on August 1.
According to the website, companies’ 2015 passwords will not work for the 2016 EEO-1 Survey. The annual Notification Letter will contain each company’s 2016 password. Companies that filed an EEO-1 report in 2015 should receive the 2016 notification letter by mail no later than the end of August 2016. If the individual responsible for filing the EEO-1 report has changed since the 2014 filing cycle, you will have to request a change to your Contact Person E-mail. You can do this by sending the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission a signed change request on company letterhead with the name, title, phone number and email address of the new contact person at your company. The change must be signed by an authorized company representative in order for the request to be processed. The request should be emailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org. The new EEO-1 contact will receive an email with login and password information once your change request has been submitted.
The filing deadline for both of these reports is September 30. However, MSEC recommends filing sooner as response time from the EEOC and the Veterans’ Employment & Training Service slows as the deadline approaches.
You are required to file a VETS-4212 report if you have a federal contract that you entered into or modified after 12/1/2003 that is worth $150,000 or more.
