The Office of Federal Contracts Compliance Programs (OFCCP) issued new veterans and disabled affirmative action regulations on September 24, 2013, with a scheduled effective date of March 24, 2014. These regulations herald unprecedented changes in recordkeeping and data collection for federal contractors.
Many federal contractors have expressed concern that the collection of the new records to meet the new disabled regulations may conflict with the Americans with Disabilities Act. In response, the OFCCP has worked with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to develop a specific self-identification form for disabled individuals. The Office of Management and Budget approved the Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability form on January 26, 2014, and the OFCCP published the form on its website on January 27, 2014.
